The inaugural Baldy Marathon; a scenic run through wine country in Oliver, BC. Runners indulged in a Marathon, 20k, 10k and kids run in this one-of-a-kind autumn race along the Okanagan River. The soothing sounds of the water, mature trees and calling birds kept the participants zen as they headed south towards picturesque Osoyoos Lake. The course is almost flat with barely any time on roads or pavement. The highlight of the Baldy Marathon is starting and finishing at a world-renowned wine festival; The Festival of the Grape! Runners received free entry into the Festival of the Grape, a commemorative Baldy Marathon t-shirt, plus access to the roving race-day shuttle transportation, operating both to and from Oliver and Osoyoos all day.
With Stephanie O’Brien’s race director experience and involvement in sporting events, Carmella Consulting was the perfect match to help shape the 1st annual Baldy Marathon into a small, but successful first race! Carmella Consulting teamed up with Munday Media and Baldy Mountain Resort to create a summer event, demonstrating that Baldy Mountain Resort is a year-round resort. The Baldy Marathon needed marketing, and advertising, and Carmella was right there to take the job! We helped with marketing the event through digital marketing, email databases, print, and reaching out to sponsorships, such as Solo Energy Bars and the Running Room.
