The Rocky Mountain Social Summit is a one-day strategic communications summit designed for businesses looking to take their social media and public relations efforts to new heights. Participants will receive practical tips on how to efficiently and effectively manage modern communications in the digital world, as well as insights from industry experts with decades of experience. 

The event will feature a keynote address from Cam Gordon, Head of Communications, Twitter Canada. His presentation will be on latest Twitter developments and innovations and he will be doing a Q and A with the audience on all things Twitter. He is also willing to do a PM session on ‘How to Use Twitter to Advance and Enhance Your Career‘.

Lunch will be included with your ticket and the event will conclude with a networking session and cash bar.

Cam Gordon is the Head of Communications for Twitter Canada and part of Twitter’s global communications team. Cam works with journalists across Canada, keeping them informed of the latest happenings with Twitter and sharing Canadian Twitter stories rooted in politics, sports, entertainment and other areas. Prior to Twitter, Cam spent 10+ years working for two of Canada’s most well-respected communications firms, Hill+Knowlton Strategies and High Road Communications. At these agencies, Cam worked with clients such as LG Electronics, Disney, 3M and American Express plus top Canadian brands such as TELUS, Canada Goose and Spin Master.

His presentation will be on latest Twitter developments and innovations and he will be doing a Q and A with the audience on all things Twitter. 

He is also willing to do a PM session on ‘How to Use Twitter advance and enhance your career’.

Entrepreneurial at heart, Stephanie always looks for opportunities to collaborate and elevate the status quo. Founder of the Bow Valley Chamber of Commerce, her ability to see alliances and collaborate with other businesses sets an example for others to follow. 
As a former National Coach of the Year, she endeavours to listen, understand, and help her clients excel in their own wheelhouse, by producing branded storytelling.  She tackles content marketing and everything in the digital space with a focus on social media marketing.  

She executed the World’s Greenest Marathon 3 years in a row, as the Banff Marathon Race Director. Her company is growing and Stephanie does an amazing job of balancing an active lifestyle, running a business and raising a family.

Peter Pilarski
CIPR Communications

 

With over 15 years of experience, Peter is a proven expert in communications including writing, government relations, media, and stakeholder management. He believes that at their core, effective businesses establish meaningful and enduring relationships and organization-wide understanding of business goals and communications priorities.

He has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Alberta and an Executive MBA with a Finance specialization from the University of Calgary. Both areas of study have equipped him with the skillset to understand the importance of a strong strategic plan grounded in communications tactics and useful key messages.

 

Christina Pilarski
CIPR Communications

Christina has taken the path as an innovator in communications, public relations and agile online engagement. With a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Masters of Arts in Communications Studies, her education led her to focus her thesis around the ability to effect policy change through online engagement. She took her research across Alberta to understand what it takes for an individual to become engaged with government and policy online. Christina is one of few people in the country who has studied, and is committed to understanding why we engage online. 

Since her university days, Christina has become an expert in digital communications, working with multiple industries on delivering their message and engaging users. Her belief is that stakeholder engagement and effective communications are about establishing relationships, telling stories and creating messages that connect companies in a personal way with their key audiences.

It is about time a strategic communications conference, focusing on social media and public relations come to Canmore, Alberta.
