Did you know that 30% of your search engine ranking on Google is based on Google Reviews?

Getting those reviews starts with having a functioning, relevant, and up-to-date Google My Business page. That is one of the first things we check when bringing on a new client because it is so crucial to your business. Reviews offer valuable insights while boosting your ranking on the SERP (search engine results page).

We decided to investigate this matter and quickly came upon a software called OneLocal.

OneLocal is a software company that provides a variety of marketing tools that can help get your business to the next level. There are many features that you can choose from when designing your OneLocal dashboard including, ReviewEdge, ReferralMagic, QuickConnect, FirstImpression, SEOBoost, and ClearGrowth.

Carmella was obviously intrigued by the idea of ReviewEdge, which is designed to get you more Google Reviews, as well as side-check 1, 2, and 3 star reviews. Only letting 4 and 5 star reviews reach the public eye (when requests are made through OneLocal). We thought this would be an extremely helpful resource for a number of our clients, so we decided to be the guinea-pigs and see what OneLocal could do for us.

We were designated a Marketing Expert who got our dashboard set up and sent us over our login info. Afterwards, the set-up process was relatively easy. It was just a matter of adding our client database to the ContactHub within the dashboard. Once that was complete we went ahead and sent out our Review Requests.

A major selling point of OneLocal is the ability to send out these requests as a text message to multiple people at the click of a button. Text messages have a much higher open and completion rate than emails. We sent out about 80 requests to both past and current clients and patiently waited for responses.


We received 5 Google Reviews…

This was not disappointing by any means, but we quickly learned that OneLocal was not the right fit for us. Our clients have either been long term or we haven’t done work with them in years. Therefore, we realized that OneLocal would be amazing for companies with quick turnaround customers, like spas, workout studios, showhomes, etc.

These types of business would benefit from OneLocal because right as the customer/ client leaves the door they could be sent a review request text message. After a relaxing massage, an uplifting yoga class, or a pleasant encounter with a real estate agent, how could you not want to leave a quick 5 star review?

Carmella is going to continue to request reviews the old fashioned way, by asking in person, but if this sounds like the right fit for you, get in contact with us and we will do what we can to get you where you belong on Google (at the top)!
